Aerospace Operations Lab Student Awarded 2nd Place at the 2025 SESAR Young Scientist Award

We are delighted to share that Abolfazl Simorgh, Assistant Professor at the Aircraft Operations Lab (UC3M), has been awarded second place in the 2025 SESAR Young Scientist Award. This prestigious international recognition highlights outstanding early-career research shaping the future of aviation and air traffic management.

Abolfazl’s work focuses on climate-friendly aircraft trajectory optimisation, integrating non-CO₂ atmospheric effects into flight planning to support more sustainable and climate-aware aviation operations. The jury praised the scientific depth and practical relevance of his contributions.
