Eduardo Andrés Endériz, a PhD alumnus of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, has been honored with the Outstanding Thesis Awards for the academic year 2022-2023. This prestigious prize recognizes the exceptional quality of his research in the field of aircraft trajectory planning amidst uncertain thunderstorm evolution.
Eduardo’s award-winning thesis, titled “Navigating the Skies: Innovations in Aircraft Trajectory Planning Considering Ensemble Forecasting of Thunderstorms” introduces two novel heuristic approaches. One addresses weather uncertainties through ensemble forecasting products, while the other achieves near real-time solutions using GPU parallel programming.
Supervised by Manuel Soler, among other professors, Eduardo’s thesis not only earned acclaim within our academic community but has also propelled him to a position at Airbus. His recognition is also an honor for the Aircraft Operations Lab of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, as we are committed to academic excellence and innovative research.
