We are pleased to announce the publication of the E-CONTRAIL Policy Brief, “Making Contrails Visible: AI-Based Insights into Aviation’s Climate Impact using Satellite Imagery”, together with the illustrated comic “A real contrail story…”, which presents the project’s main findings in an accessible visual format.
The Policy Brief outlines the scientific results and evidence-based recommendations that emerged from the project’s two years of research. By combining AI and satellite observations, the E-CONTRAIL team provides a clearer understanding of when and where contrails exert their strongest climate effects, offering valuable insights for future mitigation strategies.
We would like to congratulate the entire E-CONTRAIL consortium for the excellent scientific and dissemination work reflected in these publications, and for helping to translate complex climate research into practical knowledge for the aviation community.
