2026 MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships

We are looking for outstanding postdoctoral researchers interested in applying for the 2026 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) with the Aircraft Operations Lab at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M).

The MSCA-PF 2026 Call offers an excellent opportunity for talented researchers to develop an independent project through international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral mobility.

📅 Send research proposal before May 31

The postdoctoral research should focus on Sustainable Aviation, including topics such as:

  • Contrail research: detection, radiative forcing estimation, plume modelling & forecasting
  • Climate-aware flight planning and contrail mitigation
  • Non-CO₂ aviation climate impact assessment

📌 Fellowship schemes:

  • European Fellowships (12–24 months): Open to researchers of any nationality carrying out their project in Europe.
  • Global Fellowships (24–36 months): For European nationals or long-term residents, including an outgoing phase outside Europe and a mandatory return phase.

📌 Eligibility:

✔ PhD awarded before the application deadline

✔ Max. 8 years of postdoctoral research experience (except for the exceptions specified in the call)

✔ Compliance with MSCA mobility requirements established for each category:

  • In the case of European Fellowships (EF), the applicant must not have resided in or carried out their main professional activity in Spain for more than 12 months during the 36 months preceding the application deadline.
  • In the case of Global Fellowships (GF), the applicant must not have resided in or carried out their main activity in the country of the host institution for the outgoing phase for more than 12 months during the 36 months prior to the application deadline.
